Licensure Candidate
Individuals, Teens, and Couples

Hello! My name is Megan Hilton, and I am an LPCC post-masters graduate and am currently working towards my licensure to become a mental health counselor. I obtained my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University in March of 2023, where I began seeing clients and gaining experience. I specialized in child and adolescent therapy while in school and have continued working with youths between 5 - 18 years old. I attended therapy myself as a child and adolescent and feel my personal experience has allowed me to better understand my younger clients. I have also gained experience working with adults through individual, couples, and family counseling.
I follow a holistic/integrative ideology when it comes to therapy, which encompasses a mix of different theories based on the client's needs. This ideology has allowed me to specialize my approach to each of my clients to ensure they are getting the most out of their therapy. Some of the main theories I use are feminist theory, DBT, Gestalt, person-centered, and psychodynamic. I specialize in working with concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, ADHD, OCD, eating disorders, behavioral concerns, grief, bipolar disorders, and borderline personality disorder. I believe it is vital to take into consideration clients' multicultural backgrounds, identities, experiences of oppression, and family history to ensure I can provide the best care possible. Please feel free to reach out to me to inquire about scheduling a session or if you have any additional questions.
